Dr. Samara Toussaint founded Path2Growth Counseling in Garden City, on Long Island, to offer neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive care to clients from age 2 to 65. We built the practice’s first website, rebuilt it on Squarespace at the start of 2025, and this summer built the third one, in Framer.

The situation

The practice had grown past both earlier sites. Alongside therapy it now offered psychological evaluations, executive functioning coaching, parent training, and school advocacy. Two new programs were on the way: Champion Advocacy, for families working through IEPs and 504 plans, and Stepping Stones, reduced-rate care from supervised interns for families without insurance. The team had grown as well.

Samara wanted the new site to feel warm and rooted in community, the way the practice does, and to carry her mission to decolonize mental health care. She also wanted real control over how it looks on a phone and a tablet, since that’s where a lot of parents find her.

The design

Terracotta and sage on warm cream, with a serif for headlines and a humanist sans for reading. Photography of families and of the practice’s own clinicians does the work that stock icons usually do.

Two choices came straight from who the practice serves. The site uses the infinity symbol of the neurodiversity movement in place of the puzzle piece. And we left out the small uppercase labels that usually sit above headings, because they add noise for neurodivergent readers.

The build

We chose Framer for the control it gives over every screen size, which was Samara’s biggest concern going in. The site grew from her own planning document into 24 pages: one for each specialty under Who We Help, one for each service, and new pages for Champion Advocacy and Stepping Stones.

Her 39 existing articles moved into a Resources collection she keeps adding to every month, and her clinicians introduce the practice in short videos on the pages they belong to.

Getting started

The intake page took the most thought. Many of the practice’s referrals can start faster when their details arrive before the first phone call, and plenty of families prefer it that way. Samara’s team already works in Google Workspace under a HIPAA business associate agreement, so the referral form is her own Google Form, embedded on the page. Answers go straight to her intake coordinator, who checks coverage and gets each family started.

Anyone who’d rather talk it through can call from the same page. Separate short forms handle office rental requests and partnerships with schools and agencies, so those never land in the referral inbox.

The Get Started page, "Let's find the right support," with options to send a message or call.

The outcome

The site launched recently, and since then the practice has used it to open pre-orders for Samara’s children’s book, Mara’s Magic Mask, with checkout through Stripe.
